I have been hearing and reading about “Cloud Storage” or “Virtual Storage” for quite some time now. I was always leery of such programs out of fear of losing or surreptitiously sharing my files with others. The strange thing is I was already doing it without knowing. With Windows Live Essentials I have a SkyDrive with 25 GB of storage. Windows Live Sky Drive is a cloud storage service. Ok I guess I felt a little stupid after reading that article.

The main thing I didn’t like is always having to stop what I was doing to go online to Sky Drive to upload things. In further readings I found out about two programs that would allow me to upload and download from my desktop. I checked them out and went with the one that I thought  had a better GUI. It was called Gladinet Cloud Desktop. It’s a cross platform cloud storage that works with Sky Drive, Google Docs, Picasa, etc. I insta;;ed the program in Windows 7 and had nothing but problems with the thing. I figured I should have known bwtter/ I decided to write a support ticlet just as a llast chance. This company went out of their way to help me ondtall the product in Windows & and I suppose I had a hand in collection of information leading to a totally new build for Windows 7.

I have rarely seen a company go out of their way for me as this one did. They have a great product. I am a digital artist and the thought of bring able to use that 25 GB od storage at Sky Drive is great for me. This company even went so far as giving me the product for free, for my troulbles. I can’t remember an online comp-nay that ever did that for me.

It is possible to back up all your documents, files, sonds, photos from the convenience of your desktop to Windows Live Sky Drive. Check these people out if you are interestested, all those who have Google Docs, Picasa or Windows Live Sky Drive. They have a free or a paid version. The only thing I don’t like about it is having to download to access. So I guess it’s not completely virtual http://gladinet.com

Back in February Rich wrote a review of a handy little customization program calles “Right Clicker”. After reading the review I went and downloaded the trial the next day. I fell in love with the program. I can totally customize the right click explorer with basically whatever I want. I went back to their site and bought the paid version.

That was back in February and now with the advent of Windows 7 They have made many changes to an already great little program. Back in February they were at Version 1.26, they are now at version 1.36. I just installed Windows 7 And it worls fine.

If you look on my home page, in the bottom roght corner there is a link to their site. I don’t get any commission, it is not an advertisement on their part neither. It is something that I wanted to share with everyone. It make things a lot easier, and colorful. If yuo get a chance check it out, you won’t regret it.

This company went out of their way to respond to a support ticket for me and have released a new version for Windows 7. I would highly recommend this company and it’s products. I have a penchant for the smaller companies, they try harder.

Ok call me crazy. I don’t how it happened but it works now and I will be bloggong here again. Maybe it had something to do with a couple restarts since the last time

I cannot configure this blog with Windows Live Writer. Ever since I had to reinstall Windows Live Writer I cannot configure this blog with it. I have a Wordpress Blog http://skyzyk.wordpress.com/ It is most probable that I will be posting my stuff there instead of myWindowsPC Blog. I am posting yet it says the account is not active. Go Figure. Maybe it’s me. Maybe I don’t have the proper configuration? Bottom line is it’s easier for me to post at Wordpress. The funniest part ia that this is also a Wordpress Blog.

I’m being told by WIndows Live writer that I do not have an active blog here, so I came to see. HELP

I bought my laptop at the end of 2006 and in no time I had all kinds of graphic programs installed, Programs such as Adobe Photoshop CS and Corel PSP X2 and a few others. I thought it was the thing to do as I’ve always been attracted to Photo Manipulation and art in general. By April of this year I could probably count on my hands and toes the number of times I had used them. So I started to try my artistic, if any, talents. I now have about 50 works in my portfolio and have even won a contest at WinCustomize in their Summer 09 Wallpaper Contest. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I even had artistic talent let alone win a contest with other artists!!.

To start off with, I’m a desktop customization junkie.  I have bought all the Stardock programs and use them all constantly. Themes, Icons, Screensavers, Logon Screens, etc. And ever since it’s become a fever, downloading new wallpapers, themes, skins, etc.

A few months ago I decided to try my hand at making my own art. I’ve had Adobe Photoshop CS and Corel PSP X2 for aeons installed but hardly ever used. I also have  all versions of Apophysis Fractal Generators. (2.02, 2,08 Beta and the newest, 3D Hack). About 3 weeks ago I started submitting my works at WinCustomize. Actually It took some courage to post them as I don’t handle rejection well. I thought what could I possibly make, at 52 years young,  that anyone would want to see. Today, after three weeks, I have over 2,000 downloads!.

YIKES What a nice surprise. People were even leaving all kinds of great comments and encouragement. I have over 30 different wallpapers and LogonStudio Vista screens. I felt like part of a new gang. “The Artists: LOL You can view my Gallery at: http://skyzyk.wincustomize.com

Today I made another step by uploading some of m works to Deviant Art. I’ve had the account but never had anything to upload. as soon as I started uploading my works (one at a time because I didn’t have a Premium account) I started receiving messages that people were adding my works to their favorite lists. Again I made new friends and another gang. “) So far I’ve only uploaded the same works as I have posted at WinCustomize. For the past while I’ve been uploading and concentrating on my Photobucket site, http://skyzyk.photobucket.com, but now ‘I’ll start working on Deviant Art. http://skyzyk.deviantart.com

So I guess you can tell by now that I’m hooked. “I liked it so much I bought the company” LOL

The moral of the story? You are never to old to start something new. To anyone reading this I have one message for you, “GO FOR IT” You may be surprised by the results.

Every now and then myWindowsPC has giveaways. I received an e-mail this morning informing me of two such give-aways. One was for a copy of ESET Smart Security. First I’s like to say hello, It’s been a while since I posted. I feel Like I’m confessing here, LOL. I’ve been  a little under the weather this past while. I can’t believe it’s been like 2 months since I last posted. I hope my friends are all well. 

I just discovered that on top of this and my other Wordpress blog that I have several others. Windows Live Spaces, My Yahoo, My Google pages as well have one. Of course I can’t forget Facebook and Twitter. Everywhere I turn there seems to be another. Is it possible we are going a little overboard with blogging. I mean if I kept all these up to date, I’d never have time to talk to real people, I’d always be typing. At the rate I make typos it would take all day!

This is my first real blog, and for that I will always come back to it. Back to the future, shall we say, he he. See you all soon.

I was reading an article at Minty White this morning. The title was something like ” myWindowsPC blogs open; Chaos Ensues” and I started laughing beacause that was a good description of what was going on in my mind. I felt like I was in a race to build the nicest blog of all, when, in all reality, I haven’t a clue what I’m doing and am sort of flying by the skin of my pants. LOL The main is to have fun, isn’t it? 

I don’t think I’ll ever be winning a nobel prize but for me it’s a way to communicate with my new friends and my future friends, That is if I don’t scare them away with my sense of humour. It can be quite sarcastic or dark at times. Who me? I prefer to think of it as “Organized Confusion” rather than “Chaos” .  :) 

Now if I can just get this set up a little better,LOL See ya later
