How to Fix WMI Provider Host (WmiPrvSE.exe) High CPU Usage in Windows 10? WMI Provider Host WmiPrvSE is a Windows Host Management Process that is used by the Developers for Monitoring Purposes. But Windows Management Instrumentation Service (Winmgmt) or WMI provider (wmiprvse.exe) is consuming high CPU.

So to fix this issue, you can run some basic command on the command prompt and restart the Windows Management Instrumentation Service in Windows 10 with follow some step below:

1. Try with Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

  • Click Start menu then click Settings.Repair Windows 10 using Automatic Repair
  • Click Update & Security.
  • Select Troubleshoot then jump to its right panel search and select Windows Update.

  4. Open Command Prompt with right click on Windows logo. You can search on Cortana with type: command prompt.
  5. Then type the following commands one by one, after each command press the Enter key. net stop iphlpsvc
    net stop wscsvc
    net stop Winmgmt
    net start Winmgmt
    net start wscsvc
    net start iphlpsvc
  6. Reboot your PC.
